Hey guys! My name is Megan Cullinan and I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I saw the Special Editions in 1997. I was instantly hooked! And then the prequel trilogy came and life was good! Growing up, I never had a lot of friends who were interested in Star Wars, and I never knew how large the fan base really was until years later when the internet became more readily available. My interaction with Star Wars fans didn’t really hit a high point until the announcement of the sequel trilogy. From there, the world opened up! I joined Twitter and Instagram and met so many wonderful and positive Star Wars fans.
In August of 2016, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and it changed my life. I am so happy to say that I am now cancer free, but my journey getting there wasn’t easy. But staying positive and hopeful was something that truly helped me get through that journey. And Star Wars was something that taught me that. Last year, I started a blog inspired by my cancer journey and I used Star Wars to help format my blog called “I Rebel: My Cancer War.” My main reason for starting my blog was to help people get through difficult situations and find hope through those dark times and this is what I want to do with this podcast.
This project has also allowed me to hone my creative skills. I’ve been a singer and performer for a long time and I used those skills to arrange and perform the theme song!
